international expert seminar • ERASMUS+ KA1
Payerbach (Austria) • April 6th–12th 2017

The expert seminar aims at gathering international youth work trainers in order to discuss and find new ways of responding to the needs of youth work and young people under the current realities and trends in Europe. We will also critically reflect our practices especially in light of assessing the actual impact (and lack thereof) of non-formal education, our unconscious bias in our work, and dealing with failures. Additional inputs will be provided by external experts from the business sector and psychology.
The expert seminar is endorsed by the International Youth Work Trainers Guild(iywt.org) and hosted by the Austrian organisation coobra – cooperativa braccianti, based on a co-operation of 16 partner organisations from 16 different countries from the European Union and Neighbouring Partner regions. Several international members of the IYWT Guild are taking care of the agenda and the facilitation of the seminar.
Some parts of the programme will also be self-facilitated, and we have invited several experts from outside the youthwork sector (eg from business and psychology) to provide inspirational additional inputs and workshops.
The event will be held in direct connection with the IYWT Guild’s (iywt.org) Annual General Meeting, the results of the expert seminar will be directly reflected and implemented in the IYWT Guild’s workplan for 2017/18. In the selection of participants,
preference will be given to applicants who have had previous involvement with the
IYWT Guild (eg members) and/ or clear willingness for involvement in the future.
All costs for accommodation, food, course materials and visa are fully covered. The international travel costs are covered according to the rules of ERASMUS +KA1. The event will be free for registered members of the IYWT Guild. Associates of the IYWT Guild pay a participation fee of EUR 40, all other participants a participation fee of EUR 50.
